The Braintree Directory

Braintree, Essex

Braintree’s traditional market, the streets around Great Square and Bocking’s textile heritage give this part of Essex a character of its own. The Braintree Directory covers the market town and Bocking, where Courtaulds and Warner & Sons helped shape local industry and the white post mill remains a landmark. Its reach includes Witham, Halstead, Coggeshall and nearby villages such as Rayne and Great Notley. Residents can search for shops, places to eat, trades, health services and community groups by area, village or category. Local businesses can submit a free listing with their services, contact options, website and photo or logo. Each submission is reviewed, with an optional FastTrack + Featured upgrade for quicker review and additional prominence. The directory’s guides explore local attractions, community contacts and shopping, from Braintree’s town centre to the district’s smaller settlements. A rolling What’s On guide lists dated events and organiser links, while a business-promotion guide explains local listing opportunities. Customers contact businesses directly, with no commission taken by the directory.
